Sounds like polyamory can be great + fulfilling, it just requires a fair amount of skill, awareness and knowing what you actually want. All three much easier said than done.

I was recently having a much similar through re: hookup culture. A perfectly decent lifestyle choice, it’s just important to be centered/grounded. I, and most other young people, were/are not.

Thank you for sharing this side of it!

Hello Zane, thanks for being here and adding to the conversation. Yes -- everything you mentioned, plus being a masterful communicator. Staying centered / grounded and able to self-regulate is wildly necessary.

I was listening to a podcast from a thought leaders recently who said: "Thriving family, happy marriage, successful career, polyamory. Pick three." At the end of the day there's only so many hours in the day. We get to choose where to allocate our time, energy and resources.

Wow!! I have never gone there with poly, and not sure I even want to, but holy shit this was an awesome story!

Thank you for this, Sarina! We hear of people who have great experiences with poly, though there are several people I know whose relationships were irrevocably changed and ended because of it. So if it isn't something that you desire, no pressure whatsoever!

Very interesting, thought-provoking piece Sarah, sister wife is a very interesting concept for relationships.

Thank you, Pách. I suspect that there are some pros and many more cons to actual polygamy. Grateful to have inherited a sister wife without any of the drama.

Thank you for sharing. I always tell people, do what’s good for your relationship; not what others expect you to do.

Truly though. Breaking out of the confines of conditioning on the other hand is quite the invitation!
