I’ll never look at mushrooms the same way again - sperm scoopers! Well, it does not surprise me how selective our female bodies are, they really don’t settle, oh how we can learn so much from our own nature 💜
Isn't that the truth! These brilliant bodies, on the lookout for the best partner to procreate with. I read how being on the pill actually mutes women's olfactory senses and ability to select a suitable partner. Our bodies never cease to amaze. 🫶
That scooping part dosnt seem right. It's mushroom shape for more penetration (acting like an air pump) by taking out the air from inside the vagina and at the same time excite the vagina walls. Prove me wrong.
Loved this. Reminded me of some of the stuff in the book ‘Sex at Dawn.’ But the penis head shape/scooping info was new to me, and very interesting. Thanks for sharing these insights.
Welcome, Rebecca, thanks for chiming in. Yes! Sex at Dawn was one of our required readings when I was becoming a VITA Coach. The body is endlessly fascinating. Glad to have your voice in the mix.
Sex at Dawn has been thoroughly debunked by scientists across a broad spectrum of disciplines. The authors wrote the book to support their belief in polyamory. Humans split from other primates 2 million years ago. Relying on animal behavior to prescribe what is “natural” for humans is as dangerous as it is futile. Why use body-shaming to buttress unscientific conclusions?
I saw an animal special talking about testicle size and male monogamy. Some rodents have semen that cements the lady critter shut in hopes of sealing the genetic deal.
Animal sexuality is a whole fascinating avenue on its own! Female ducks are often subjected to assault from male ducks so they even have fake vaginal canals to prevent the sperm from making it home. It blows my mind!
Hi Rowan, I wanted to acknowledge the solicitation comment from Tommy. This behavior goes against the guidelines for our community, and I’ve taken steps to address it.
Thanks for your patience and understanding as I work to keep this space respectful and supportive.
This was great, and apropos. I know a number of former partners who would be distressed to learn their vocal output is based in evolutionary history of attracting more sexual partners. :)
Many thanks, Frank. Appreciate you being here and sharing your thoughts. Evolution and morality are different constructs entirely, and this seems to get under people’s skin. Alas!
Holy Crap Sarah, I just learned SO MUCH! When I stumbled upon this post, I was expecting humor... not legit learning. But then I got BOTH!!! Thank you for being the person who talks about this shit. In contrast, idk what I will ever do with this knowledge, idk. But I'm hella excited to have it bahahahahaha

The body IS endlessly fascinating indeed!
I am reading sex at dawn right now, really appreciated the non monog references, so interesting!
It puts evolution in a whole new light, doesn’t it!

I read that, too. That’s insane.
i had no idea ducks have fake vaginal canals, that is so interesting!
Right?! I was in awe and went down a research spiral after that!
Whaaaas!!!
Mind blown. 🤯
Why do I feel objectified?
You're worth more than the sum of your parts.
Sorry Tommy.
I have no interest in cocktail making, and if I gave you a sub, it would only give you fake data.
Honestly best of luck though.
I'm sure you'll find your people.

No problem at all.
It's crazy compared to X that people care so much to keep things cosier.
Thanks Sarah.
I love sex ed. I feel like I'm better for having read this.
Thank you, Allysha! It definitely includes some details that middle school sex ed left out... Better late than never ✨️
Done!

This is fascinating. Bio adaptation, in this context, I've never even heard of this, but WOW!
HI Maryellen, I'm glad you found it thought-provoking. Similarly, when I discovered these subjects I couldn't wait to share.
What else is on the horizon? This was amazing.

“my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard”
gave my wife and I a good LOL.
Paul, thank you! I'm glad that the milkshake comment gave you a good laugh! A pleasure to have you here.
Fascinating - this wasn't taught in any of my anthropology classes!
Thank you Boo! Do you think anthropology classes are ready for this kind of rhetoric? I'm so curious!
I think it's necessary, honestly
Sure!
This is a a great read!!!
Thank you so much, Empress! It's a pleasure to have you here.
