Great piece of writing, as usual, Sarah. I love reading good books of all sorts and definitely will read Untrue. I really enjoyed reading Sex at Dawn, which you mentioned in one of your earlier posts. Thanks.
Hey thanks, Barun, appreciate you being here. Yesss. Untrue feels like it's in a similar lane as Sex at Dawn and I prefer Wednesday Martin's take even better. Bear in mind that it's specifically about how everything we know about female sexuality is untrue. I'd love to hear what you think!
With so much advancements in science, we know precious little about human body, mind and psychology. We have just scratched the surface. And when it comes to female sexuality, we look through the tinted glass of male chauvinism handicapping us with biasess. Hence the ignorance.
With human inflated ego we also forget that we are after all animals like any other. Despite controlling our selves with cultural, we are influenced by our animal instincts more than we care to accept.
There's a lot of research and development going into the human body. But it hasn’t always made its way to female sexuality. In fact, the full internal anatomy of the clitoris wasn’t mapped until 1998. Before that, modern medicine treated female sexuality as a lesser version of male sexuality—basically, “men’s sexuality lite.”
But that’s just not true.
We’re still animals, at the end of the day. And our bodies deserve just as much curiosity and protection.
In my erotic letter of this month’s I talked about a primal experience I had in Yucatán Mexico, not so long ago. Where desire was so powerful that ended up overruling any logical decisions the other person could have made.

Would you agree?

This is fascinating, Keith! The First Nations people were certainly ahead of their time. Thank you for sharing!
